Welcome to the Linn Benton Rugby Youth Program Why is youth rugby growing so fast? Because it’s a ton of FUN to play! Everyone touches the ball and everyone can score. Youth Rugby is a fast paced, safe, and fun way to improve in any athletic skill. Linn Benton Youth Rugby is a 7 a side non-contact flag form of rugby for girls and boys in sixth through eighth grades. Skills including running, kicking, passing, space strategy, teamwork, and self-confidence will be developed. Youth rugby requires lots of energy and it teaches children to think on their feet by playing a game that does not stop for time outs or breaks in play. Youth rugby also builds strong self confidence and camaraderie by participating in a sport where sportsmanship is not just a word but is embraced and expected by the sport worldwide.

IMPORTANT: Due to an unexpected scheduling conflict the FIRST WEEK of practice has been moved back to April 9th. Coaches will post their practice schedules by April 3rd.

WHAT: Sevens Flag Rugby is a free-flowing game that allows all players to pick up the ball and run. It’s fun, fast-paced, and built on teamwork
WHEN: Practices start the week of APRIL 9th.
HOW MUCH: Participation Fee is set at $80 and includes jersey, rugby ball, shorts & socks

PRACTICE SCHEDULE: ALBANY: You will be practicing at North Albany Middle School. Practices will be Mondays and Tuesdays from 4pm-5:30 pm. Head Coach Albany Jana Hodgins Assistant Coach: Raji Maki and Brooklyn Patrick and Gabby Yount CORVALLIS: You will be practicing at Linus Pauling Middle School. Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-5:30 pm. Head Coach Corvallis Lions: Matteo Gouveia Assistant Coaches: Mike and Carl. So...What happens next?We start practices the week of April 9. All players from Corvallis will start as one group and all players from Albany will train will start as one group.The week before our first games (4/28), teams will be formed as equally as possible. Players will remain on those teams for the duration of the season.
